  • The America250 Challenge is a nationwide initiative that encourages individuals, families, schools, businesses, faith communities, and organizations to celebrate America's 250th anniversary through service and giving. Participants complete the challenge by donating 250 items, volunteering 250 hours, performing 250 acts of kindness, or creating another meaningful community impact project.

  • Everyone is welcome to participate in the America250 Challenge. Individuals, families, schools, colleges, businesses, nonprofits, faith communities, civic organizations, veteran groups, and community teams can all take part and make a positive impact in their communities.

  • No. Volunteering 250 hours is just one way to complete the challenge. Participants may also donate 250 items, perform 250 acts of kindness, organize a community service project, or create another meaningful way to give back.

  • The challenge is designed to be flexible and inclusive. Qualifying activities may include volunteer service, donations of food, books, clothing, school supplies, hygiene items, pet supplies, or other needed resources; acts of kindness; fundraising efforts for charitable causes; mentoring; community cleanups; care package assembly; and other projects that strengthen communities and help others.

  • Participants are encouraged to track their service hours, donated items, acts of kindness, and community impact activities throughout the challenge. Progress can be recorded individually or as a team and submitted through the America250 Challenge platform as recognition and reporting opportunities become available.

  • The America250 Challenge celebrates America's 250th anniversary and encourages participants to complete their service and giving goals by December 31, 2026.
