Our Purpose

To mobilize young spirits, from enthusiastic elementary to motivated middle school students, into a force for good. At Going the Extra Miles, children don’t just dream of a better tomorrow; they roll up their sleeves to build it today.

A True Youth Movement

Going the Extra Miles was founded on a simple but powerful belief: age is no barrier to making a meaningful difference.

Inspired by our young founder, Miles Murdocca, we focus on engaging younger members of the community and providing opportunities designed specifically for kids. We believe that when children are given the chance to serve, lead, and contribute, they develop confidence, compassion, and a lifelong commitment to helping others.

Our guiding principle is simple: Small hands can make big waves.

By empowering young people to take part in service projects, community initiatives, and leadership opportunities, we help them discover that their actions matter. In the process, they become the next generation of leaders, volunteers, and responsible stewards of their communities.

Why This Matters

Communities across the country are facing a growing challenge: fewer people are volunteering, participating in civic life, and engaging with their neighbors. If we want stronger communities tomorrow, we must begin investing in young people today.

Children are naturally eager to help. Whether assisting a teacher in the classroom, helping a parent at home, or supporting a friend, they often look for opportunities to contribute. By nurturing that instinct at an early age, we can help transform it into a lifelong habit of service.

Just as importantly, kids want to have fun. They enjoy working together, building friendships, and being part of something meaningful. That's why our programs are designed to make volunteering engaging, social, and rewarding.

Whether it's helping at local shelters, participating in community cleanups, supporting food drives, or serving neighbors in need, young people learn that giving back can be both fun and fulfilling.

When we capture their hearts early through positive service experiences, we inspire a generation that is excited to volunteer, eager to lead, and proud to make a difference in the world around them.
